Hello! We’re Chris Nelson and Gemma Hooley, independent producers who create sound-rich storytelling and community engagement projects for radio and the web. We seek out stories about everything from hockey players in North America to wildlife biologists in South Africa. Our fledgling production company is called Media Chameleon.
This is the blog of our ongoing multimedia documentary project “Hockey Diaries.” Through players’ personal narratives, interviews, sound-rich audio recordings, still photographs and video, we’re working to capture what it takes to make it to the NHL. And what it takes to succeed there. On and off the ice, in the locker room, on game day, in the pre-season, in the playoffs, on the bench, behind the bench. We’ll blog here about each season’s project as it progresses.
Thanks for joining us here; we look forward to hearing from you. You can also follow us on twitter for details of where to listen, read and respond to our work. And you can find more of our multimedia stuff on tumblr and vimeo. Prior Hockey Diaries seasons are now archived here.
